OVERVIEW
As Education Director of AIGA Philadelphia, I lead initiatives that strengthened the bridge between design education and professional practice. Now in my third year directing the chapter’s flagship FEEDBACK program, my work spans event design, community outreach, mentorship pipelines, and digital communications all aimed at empowering students and supporting inclusive growth in the design field.

CHALLENGE
AIGA Philadelphia needs stronger infrastructure and programming to support student designers and young professionals across the region’s diverse institutions. Over the past three years, I have focused my efforts on building systems, events, and outreach strategies that bridge that gap and create lasting impact.
APPROACH
EVENT PROGRAMMING
I lead the concept, design, and execution of FEEDBACK, AIGA Philadelphia’s annual portfolio review that connects students with industry professionals. Across three years of programming, I have designed a bold, legible visual identity system that’s easily repurposed across media; built outreach and onboarding materials that help students prepare for reviews; and coordinated over 60 volunteer professionals to review more than 88 student portfolios and crafting a seamless experience centered on mentorship, clarity, and access.

COMMUNITY BUILDING
I work closely with student groups, faculty advisors, and local community organizations to foster inclusive participation and strengthen long-term engagement.

STRATEGIC ROLE-BUILDING
I have expanded the Education Director role into a cross-functional position that combines event production, visual design, and content strategy and growing FEEDBACK from a solo undertaking in my first year into a four-person committee by year three.

DESIGN SYSTEMS
I create, adapt, and expand branded templates and identity systems for recurring events to streamline promotion and strengthen brand recognition.

Model transitioned from a free (2024 and prior) to a sustainable ticketed program (2025), with revenue supporting program continuity.
Over three years of sustained design leadership, I have helped increase AIGA Philadelphia’s student engagement and expanded collaborations with other schools and organizations, including Philly Ad Club. I have established templates and workflows now used by board members and volunteers to streamline event planning across the chapter. I have built visual systems that elevate AIGA Philadelphia’s communications, positioning the chapter as an accessible, professional, and student-focused presence in the region. Through intentional programming and inclusive design assets, this work contributes to building a more equitable design community.
