Role: Education Director
Tools: Figma, Adobe CC, Collaboration
OVERVIEW
As Education Director of AIGA Philadelphia, I lead initiatives that strengthened the bridge between design education and professional practice. My work spanned event design, community outreach, mentorship pipelines, and digital communications—all aimed at empowering students and supporting inclusive growth in the design field.

CHALLENGE
AIGA Philadelphia needs stronger infrastructure and programming to support student designers and young professionals across the region’s diverse institutions. I focus my efforts on building systems, events, and outreach strategies that bridge that gap and create lasting impact.
APPROACH
EVENT PROGRAMMING
I lead the concept, design, and execution of FEEDBACK, an annual portfolio review that connects students with industry professionals. I design a bold, legible visual identity system that’s easily repurposed across media; build outreach and onboarding materials to help students prepare for reviews; and coordinate over 50 volunteer professionals to review more than 75 student portfolios—crafting a seamless experience centered on mentorship, clarity, and access.

COMMUNITY BUILDING
I work closely with student groups, faculty advisors, and local community organizations to foster inclusive participation and strengthen long-term engagement.

STRATEGIC ROLE-BUILDING
I am expanding the Education Director role into a cross-functional position that combined event production, visual design, and content strategy.

DESIGN SYSTEMS
I create, adapt, and expand branded templates and identity systems for recurring events to streamline promotion and strengthen brand recognition.

IMPACT
I help increase AIGA Philly’s student engagement and expand collaborations with other schools and organizations, such as Philly Ad Club. I establish templates and workflows now used by board members and volunteers to streamline event planning. I design visual systems that elevate the chapter’s communications, positioning AIGA Philly as an accessible, professional, and student-focused chapter. Through intentional programming and inclusive design assets, I contribute to building a more equitable design community.
